Bryan Stout was tragically killed earlier this week while riding his bike in Majorca. He was run down by someone high on drugs and alcohol. He was a very well known character in the cycling world, and our thoughts go to his family and wide range of friends. In his mid 80’s Bryan was still a big campaigner for road safety, not least via social media. He was a stalwart at Catford CC where he took on every role available at some point. He was also a GS Avanti member.
Harry Leach remembers Bryan:
Way back in 1996 I had the pleasure to room with Bryan during a two week training holiday in Mallorca, ‘Bryan Stout was a stalwart and a larger than life Character with the joy of everything cycling deep in his heart and soul’, he lived in my home town of Bromley so we had the opportunity to share many a pint, I will miss those moments.
Bryan during his life gave so much for his Cycling Club ‘Catford CC’ and indeed for the interests of cycling in general and indeed strove hard for the safety of cyclists, Bryan will be sorely missed.
