if anyone is riding tomorrow – KCC gritters are out at the moment gritting all primary routes:
I went out this afternoon between 2:30-4:00 and it was a beautiful day – but the dangerous sections of ice were still present on the KK route.
Thankfully we prevented 100s of people from potential injury!
See my pics from my ride:
Sunday’s G2 KK recce ride had a good turnout thanks to the weather.
Quick roundup of the riders: I met Russ, Richard B and Alastair at Otford, then we were soon joined by Moss, Bill, Martin, Jo, Andy, Heato and Sefi. Johnny E was nowhere to be found so we set off – only to find him doing hill-reps on Row Dow!
Cracking day out and a reminder to all…[Read more]
wow – thankfully Keith + Julian are not too badly hurt – wishing you both a speedy recovery.
On today’s KK recce ride, the only incidents we had were a kamikaze squirrel that I narrowly avoided, and us having to nurse a bonked Sefi back from Ashdown.
I’ll write up more later – but it was a great day out – knackered now!
A great day out to teapot island!
The weather was hotter than expected – warm in the glorious sunshine 🙂
I had to stop and shed some layers at the top of Polhill so I missed the start – but thankfully I found the G2 gang shortly after G4 passed!
Thanks for the company today, guys.
Hi all – please write up your weekend rides!
I’ll mention a bit about the G2 expedition to the Old Ports Reliability Trial.
Another packed hall at Knockholt – same venue as last week’s Sydenham Wheelers RT.
This time Claire had mustered a healthy-looking G3 contingent too.
We had Richard B, Russ, Julian, Andy South, Simon C, John, Keith, J20 and…[Read more]
Big turnout for G2 at the Sydneham Wheelers Reliability Trial this morning.

Roll-call that I remember:
Richard B, Gary,…[Read more]
AGM tonight – reminder.
Anyone coming up from Sevenoaks area need a lift?
Anyone interested in putting a team together for Rollapaluza London Club Champs Feb 8th?
No CX this weekend but I saw that Lee Staples was racing at Cyclopark.
Also see this nasty finish at Hillingdon – nobody from Avanti but it’s why a lot of riders in the club are doing CX or LVRC:
I combined my errands with pootling around on my commuter bike this morning and afternoon.
20kgs of extra weight on panniers and only 2 gears makes for a fun ride up the hills.
The Avanti GSat crew were spotted in Seal village this morning – look forward to reading about their ride.
See some of you tomorrow at The G!
Good write-up Bill!
Some pics on facebook:
It was another fun race – not so muddy but the wind was savage.
I had a decent start – kept upright on the first off-camber hairpin when there was a large pile-up on the first lap – and made some head-way.
I kept Rob in my sights – tried to keep up – but he was steadily disappearing.
Second lap I had a…[Read more]
