G2 – Staplehurst loop
Leaving the G @ 08:30 were myself, Simon Heaton, Dave Barker, Martin Rowling, Hamish Brown, Nolan Wilkens and James Heppleston. (I hope I didn’t miss anyone).
After heading out to Col Du Knatts via Eynesford we soon found ourselves descending Exedown where we met Russ K.
Heading out via Wrotham to Ryarsh where we were joined…[Read more]
Basically what Martin said.
Great ride, group, weather and coffee stop.
A decent pace outbound with some rusty thru and off skills on display, but I’m sure we’ll nail them as the weeks go by.
Throwing a new hill into the mix was interesting with Station Road to Woldingham really testing your pacing skills.
Well done everyone and a good ride…[Read more]
G2 Sunday ride
With most of G2 riding Monday’s sportive three of us being Richard Bingham, Nolan Wilkens and I took in our ever popular Tulley’s farm circuit. It was a case of be careful what you ask for, as my published fast ride was exactly what we got straight off up Cudham Lane. With lungs trying to warm up I hung onto the guys wheels and fin…[Read more]
I saw your premises in Kelvin Parade at the weekend. It will be a good location and easy parking for bike drop offs etc…
Looking forward to dropping in to meet you, to buy some bits and also enjoy some coffee/cake.
Cheers and welcome to the club
G2 Hartfield loop.
9 of us set off from the G along Cudham Lane, down Hogtrough and up Brastead where we met Steve Rodgers and Johnny Edwards at the top before descending Toys Hill. We soon arrived at the foot of Kidds Hill (AKA The Wall) one of the favourite ascents in the area where the group spread out a bit but regrouped at the top. It’s…[Read more]
G2 lingfield loop Sunday 14th.
With plummeting temperatures and light snow an hour before 7-8 of us met at the G for an early 8:30 ride start, Chris Dines led the group off via Rushmore to Lingfield and back via Edenbridge, Tatsfield, Pilgrims Way and Hogtrough.
A good ride with great company. Martin & I detoured after Hogtrough for a…[Read more]
G2 ride – Sunday 13th.
As Neale says, great ride with great group. Once we got over the outbound lumps and onto the flat lanes the pace picked up nicely.
Very nice coffee (thanks John) @ the BoatHouse in Yalding.
Strong gusts of wind made it interesting at times, but overall it was very pleasant out.
The G2 Yalding Marty Pellow ride – AKA The Wet Wet Wet ride.
With some rather contradicting weather forecasts we met at the G.
With different forecasts our collective attire ranged from almost summer gear to almost full on winter gear.
Ably led by Adie, the G2 group of the day consisted of Hamish, Dave B, Martin, Simon H and myself – later met by…[Read more]
Great turnout from Avanti at the Bexley CC Reliability ride.
Rumour has it we had around 30 members, it was certainly an impressive site in the club house and in the car park when embarking on the ride.
With so many riders and others leaving at close intervals we formed quite large groups in the first 5 or so miles, but once the natural split…[Read more]
G2 – Jolly Boys & Girl outing to Tulleys Farm.
With an impressive 20+ G2 riders at the G it was decided to depart in 2-3 groups for safety reasons.
Graham Channon lead the front group with Hamish Brown & Chris Dines leading the last groups to leave the G.
I’m not sure how, but my timing on Sunday morning was terrible, as I didn’t leave home…[Read more]
Revolve24 6 hour
I think my riding buddies have said all that can be said.
Totally agree, an epic event and a great show of numbers and strength across the 4up TTT and 6 hour duo event.
Was a pleasure enjoying a great ride and coffee with my half of the Avanti team.
So many riders complimented us on how fast our trains were moving, but also how…[Read more]
G1 Staplehurst loop with a difference.
The group consisted of myself, Graham, Dave, Gary, Colin and Martin.
Our less than triditional Staplehurst loop took us over and down Well Hill towards Eynesford then onwards to Knatts Valley taking in the now infamous Col Du Knatts 🙂 Taking it steady we descended Exedown and took a left and headed off…[Read more]
