Hey so I finished my last 200km ride last weekend so I don’t have any more planned for now. I think 24 consecutive months is quite enough. The next big audax is the popular 100km Kent Invicta Grimpeur on the 25th March 2018. Don’t forget to sign up here: http://www.aukweb.net/events/detail/18-190/

    Hello,

It’s coming up to May where hopefully the weather starts staying warm and settled right through to September! How better to celebrate this then do another local 200km Audax in Meopham on Sunday 14th May 2017.

I would say sign up sooner than later if you wish to do this event the proper way. I have have not actually done this one so it will be new to me but I heard it is a nice route!

For the uninitiated amongst us. It will take 9-11 hours to complete and obviously you will be on the saddle till late in the evening.

Me again and yes another audax this weekend. It starts from Chailey in East Sussex so about 40 mins in the car in the early morning of Saturday. A short 100km but LOTS of climbing. Should take the average person about 4-5 hours to finish so not an all dayer at all.

    Hello,

As some of you noticed, I have been binging on Audaxes trying to complete my RRTY. Well, it finishes for me in November where I will have done 12 months of consecutive rides at a minimum of 200km. So Jonny Ed wanted me to notify people of any local audaxes. Now I appreciate Chalfont St Peter is not “local”, it’s about an hour and 10 minutes’ drive for me. But AAAnfractous is my next event on the 1st October. http://www.aukweb.net/events/detail/16-887/.

It’s hard with 2900 meters of climbing in just 125 miles and you pay £7 for the privilege. It’s not a sportive and times are not published. You start at 8am and you have till 10pm to finish it. You do get a GPX route AND a route sheet. If you have a mechanical that is ride-stopping, it up to you to get back to your car or home. There is NO broom wagons or mechanical assistance. If you are lucky to be near a town that has a bike shop then you can go there to get it fixed and then continue the ride from where you left off.
