About the event:

Created by Tony Le Vey

When: 6TH May 2019 (Bank Holiday Monday)

Where: Marden Vestry Hall, TN12 9DP

Start Time: 0900 hrs

THE SHOP IS NOW CLOSED… THE ENTRY SHEET HAS BEEN SUBMITTED…

The club is again supporting this excellent sportive (in aid of the Kent Surry Sussex Air Ambulance) and we have twenty five places put aside (we can possibly get more, but if necessary, we will put a ballot into operation).

Please indicate your attendance here, noting the following:

  • Be aware that this is a Bank Holiday Monday,
  • The cut off for notifying of attendance will be Monday 22nd April 2019, giving me a couple of weeks to collate details.

Please take a look at the event here: http://www.sanfairyanncc.co.uk/event-3110816

SFA has announced a new route: ‘In 2019 there will be a new route for this 115km sportive through some of Kent’s fine countryside, along the Greensand ridge, through haunted Pluckley and historic Tenterden. There will then be extensive views over Romney Marsh before returning through Sissinghurst and Goudhurst with a long downhill at the end. There are feed stops at 55km and 85km’.

Hi Tony. Please accept my apologies for the short notice. I have had to change my plans at last minute and am now working tomorrow morning/lunchtime (Bank Holiday Monday 6th May). This wasn’t finalised until late this evening (I was originally due to work tomorrow afternoon/early evening)…If you are expecting any not on the list to turn up tomorrow morning, please give them my place. Thank you again for organising everything…I’m really sorry to miss it…it was lots of fun last year. Many thanks. Russ K

      Hi Ian,
I can pick you up if you still need a lift. I live in Knockholt so it’s no issue. I have an estate car that could probably take two bikes in the back with the seats down although I may put bars on the roof too, so one could go up there anyway.

Let me know if you need the lift and perhaps it’s easist if I pick you up in the car park opposite the school in the middle of Otford? We can agree a time. Cheers Alistair

            Hi Ian,
I think we should leave 15 mins for the pick up in the car park in Otford, an hour to get there and 30 mins to set up once we are there. Working backwards that’s a 7.15 pick up if that’s ok with you? Let me know if you would rather do an earlier start.
Look for an Audi A6 estate in a very weird gold/brown-mushroomy colour, still idea what the colour actually is. Thanks Alistair

Hi all – would anyone doing this event be driving past Otford and have room for me (and bike) ? My car resides in Edinburgh (as I work there during the week) and my partner needs her bank holiday lie-ins ! The obvious alternative is to cycle there and back but I think that my current fitness would struggle with >100 miles in a day.
