Sydenham Wheelers Reliability Trial 27th January 2019 (0900 Start)

About the event:

Created by Graham Channon

Hall Opens at 0800hrs, first riders away at 0900
Long Route 107km (1318m climbing), Short Route 64km (750m climbing)
£10 entry fee
Free food and drink…

The club will pay for fifteen places.

Places will be allocated by ballot if numbers go over fifteen, not first come first served…

The aim is to make the subsidy available to as many members as possible over the year (including sportives)…

PLEASE SIGN UP AS ATTENDING BY SUNDAY 20TH JANUARY. If we get over fifteen names, a draw will be made at the committee meeting on Monday 21st Jan. The unsuccessful people will be placed on a reserve list (as its entry on the day and weather dependent I’m guessing there may be some late changes).

If the reserves do not get a place, they will get a priority place for the Old Ports ride on 3rd February, with the remaining marked attendees entering the ballot.

Five hardy souls taking part: Ian Grant, Steve Butler, Chris Moss, Keith Cooper and Jonathan Harris… The sun is shining and the wind bloweth on the righteous.!

If I missed any other avanti riders at the start, my apologies…

Hi Tony, rode out today on a recce for the Sydenham RT and I’m still affected by a cold which o don’t want to share, so freeing up my place for someone else. Not sure I could manage another 75miles and 5200ft climb. Enjoy

Hi Tony….apologies for short notice…family plans have changed for this weekend so won’t be able to ride on Sunday. Please offer my place to a rider on the waitress by list. Many thanks, Russ K.

    An Update:
Mick Coulton has withdrawn and there are four additional names on the site as of today. Three people in my office each drew a number. Simon L, Jomo H-R and Hamish B are in. Alex N is first reserve (sorry!). So the change is that anyone else who turns up on the day will be added to the reserve list. That concludes today’s business…

If you are unable to make it, please change your status from Yes to No. This really helps… You can always send me a WhatsApp…

The thirteen listed below are all confirmed for the reliability ride:
    Dave Barker
    Steve Butler
    Graham Channon

    Ian Grant
    Russell Kearton
    John King
    Andy McSavage
    Chris Moss

I will be at the start from 0800 to pay for you at sign-in. The next two people to approach me on the day will get the remaining two places. After that, the priority list for Old Ports on 3rd Feb swings into action.

If you decide not to ride for whatever reason, please let me know as soon as you can; I can allocate the place to somebody else. Also, keep an eye on the Sydenham Wheelers web site to check for cancellation etc.

    See you on the day
    Tony
