Meet at Green St Green, Saturday morning at 9.30am so we can load up our overnight bags onto Angus’s van and ready to go for 10.00am. Routes have been finalised . . .  GPS outward and return files for your Garmin available to download via the links below.

Pace will be to match the slower riders – so please ride at YOUR pace so we can match speeds – don’t try and hold a person’s wheel – the faster rider’s will take responsibility of keeping everyone together – we want everyone to enjoy the cruise down and get back in one piece : )

This is a lovely route maximising use of the rideable parts of the Pilgrims Way on the way out.

ROUTE OUT (confirmed please download): click here

Weather looking good on the way out click here

Aiming to arrive in Lenham at the 40 mile mark around 01:00pm for a spot of lunch.

Options include The Red Lion Pub, The  Chequers Fish Bar, or Pippa’s Tea Rooms.

This leaves us less than a 2hrs/25mile ride to our Premier Inn (functional is the best I can say about a PI) – this is on the outskirts of Whitstable (1 mile to get to the high street) – apparently they’re happy for us to sleep with our bikes for security (matron)!

We’ll then have the remainder of the afternoon to explore the town before our evening meal which we’ve pre-booked our own space at the acclaimed pub, the Ship Centurion and aiming for 7.30pm. A range of food will be laid on, and a chance to sample the great beer range that the pub specialises in. The pub is in the High Street and just over a mile ‘walk’ (hick) back to the hotel.

RETURN ROUTE (confirmed please download): click here

Weather NOT looking OK on the return! – gales forecast ! click here

Route back takes us 5 miles along the sea wall through Seasalter to our breakfast stop at the Freewheel Pub. Then ‘down’ Hollingbourne (yey!) and we ride below Kings Hill this time taking us to our fuel stop at around the 40 mile mark at Teapot Island.

Then a lovely ride back to Green St Green via Plaxtol.

Looking forward to seeing all – cheers Graham
