It’s been freezing all week – but this weekend at least looks dry and slightly milder. Make the most of it if you can! Quite a lot to highlight this week, so read on!

Informal Club Meeting

We are holding an informal meeting on Monday night – 7.45pm at the Blacksmith’s Arms on Cudham Lane (where the TT starts). Everyone very much welcome, as it’s a chance to talk about the club’s plans for 2017 – it’s your club don’t forget! I will be running through a bit of background on the club’s structure, “management” and finances (all brief, be assured), and some of the things we will certainly be doing in 2017. We’re looking for good ideas that may or may not need some cash investment and/or time commitments…….ultimately we want to continue expanding the club and what it can offer its members.

I’d be really grateful if you could confirm attendance on the Event Page. Takes 5 seconds and genuinely helps those of us who organise such things!

Also – if you have a projector and screen that we could borrow for the evening it would be hugely helpful. Drop me (Chris) a line if you can help.

Winter Indoor Turbo Training starts on Tuesday

The Winter programme of indoor turbo training starts this Tuesday – regular attendance creates great motivation for maintaining or improving fitness over the cold and dark months. They are 100% free to all club members, and your current level of fitness makes no difference at all. I certainly plan to be there in the hope of finding some fitness by March 2017!

The sessions are held at Halstead Village Hall, led by Lee Staples. Please RSVP on the EVENT PAGE. The Event page also gives full details on what you need to bring and how to prepare.

Christmas Dinner & Club Awards Night

This is a very popular event – great value and great fun. It’s also close to sell out. If you are planning to come along (with or without a partner), you really need to sign up now. All details are on this EVENT PAGE.

Club Rides this weekend

There will be a full set of club rides this weekend, including Saturday morning at 8am. Not all rides are posted up yet, but I can see that Ian Soper is leading a G3 ride round the Plaxtol loop. I also know that Simons Clarke and Heaton are devising   G1 and G2 rides for Sunday, and you should see an exciting new route posted up tonight. Watch this space in other words.

New Year’s Day 10 mile TT

If you fancy travelling to near Ashford for a 10am Time Trial on New Year’s Day, a lot of local clubs will be participating in the one organised by Southborough and District Wheelers. CLICK HERE to register if you see it as the ideal start to 2017!

Have a great weekend
