Hi club-mate

Evening gathering - 5th December

Chris Dines is organising an evening get together on Monday 5 December. It's not a formal meeting, but a chance to gather ideas and plans for the club for 2017. We'd love to see as many club members attending as possible. Venue will be confirmed, together with more details, later next week- stay tuned.

Keeping fit over Winter

The nights are fair drawing in - as my Gran used to say. That can only mean it's Avanti Turbo Time. Lee Staples has secured the use of Halstead Village Hall for a series of 12 evening, indoor, training sessions – suitable for any club member and free. Training kicks off on Tuesday 6th December - full details on the website.

In addition to turbo based training, there are likely to be some interesting extras this year, including talks by visiting experts. Watch this space.

If you want to keep informed about further training activities - please join the group here.

If there is sufficient interest, Lee is also organising another floodlit cyclopark session early December – CLICK HERE to find out more, to say whether you are likely to attend. These are great sessions that anyone can take part in and everyone will benefit from.

Club Rides This Weekend

Nick Patow will lead tomorrow's Saturday 8am 40 miler.

Please check the website home page – G3 and G4 rides are not yet posted.

Richard Bingham will lead G1/2 on the CC Bexley Reliability Trial - not starting at the G - but at Horton Kirby. It's important to support our fellow local clubs - they turn out in large numbers for the KK. I think we had some G3 interest in this too -but maybe the forecast has put some off - keep your eyes on the website for more info this weekend.

There are several more Reliability Trials coming up over the next few months - we'll post info up about them in advance and it'd be great to have a big turnout from the club.

Christmas Dinner – and Awards!!

Another reminder about the Christmas Dinner and Awards Night. CLICK HERE for all details on an event which is pretty outstanding for £14 per head and tickets are selling like hot-cakes - get yours whilst you can to avoid disappointment.

For those of you who won an annual award last year (not the individual TT ones that you keep), please return to Dave Bettinson by the end of next week as he will need to do some fresh engraving! Don’t forget that we will be awarding ourselves the Inter-Club Championship Trophy as well – champagne moment.

Kit Flash

I was pleased to see that all the riders at the recent London Six Day event were wearing Kalas jerseys. Our supplier has just announced an even bigger deal this week. They will be the official supplier to Team GB for the next 4 years! The means they'll be getting ready for the Tokyo Olypmics. It underlines how good the kit we're using is and I'm sure that Team GB will drive further exciting innovations that we'll benefit from! See the PR here.

We're getting a batch of stylish club t-shirts made up - in time for the festive season. What better way to fly the Avanti flag when off the bike? Keep your eyes peeled for more info - on sale soon - here's a sneaky peek:

Stay safe out there
