Hi,

Here we are, just about to enjoy the last weekend of October, and possibly the good weather is about to finally give out on us ?
There may still however be one final weekend to squeeze out of the long hot summer, with BBC weather telling me the sun will be out the next two days.
So, don't miss what might be the last good weather for a while, get out there in the Avanti red, white and blue, ride a few miles, eat cake, drink coffee, and ride a few more !

In case you missed this last week..........

Thursday 1st, Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd November 2018
The fourth edition of the Rouleur Classic takes place in early November. It is a new and different type of bicycle show: an exclusive, intimately curated celebration of the very best in road cycling – with an exhibition, gallery space and theatre for on-stage interviews, all put together with Rouleur’s meticulous eye for detail. Unique in the world of cycling, the event has proved a great success amongst exhibitors, professional riders and attendees.

This year the Rouleur Classic celebrates the World Championships, and has 12 ex-World Champions in attendance at the time of writing with more to be announced over the coming weeks. We also will be launching the Cycling Hall of Fame - with Eddy Merckx, Beryl Burton and Ernesto Colnago being the first inductees, Eddy Merckx will be in attendance to collect his award. A full description of the event is attached.

Tuesday Ride Curry night :

There was a 12 strong turn out for the Tuesday Training ride this week. An incredible turnout you might think given its getting dark quite early these days, until you hear it took place in the Indian restaurant in Farnborough. It was a great night, and something we perhaps could do a little more often across the other rider groups. Thanks to Lee for organising the night, including posting a route from the G to the restaurant - although no-one rode up there in the end.

Cyclopark Training Session :
A call out to all our new and recent members in particular, come along and join the session. If you're new to group riding, this is a must for you.
It's aim is to introduce and improve cycling skill required for club group rides and time trials. They are great for riders just beginning and/or wanting to improve – practise existing skills. The session will be lead by certified British cycling coaches Lee Staples and Richard Liston. The Cyclopark is a purpose built traffic free environment which has great facilities (changing/parking) and the coffee is pretty good too. Sign up here.

Sunday G2 :
G2 will ride out to Cowden then Chiddingstone for coffee and cake. Back up Baileys then out to Ightham. John King and Chris Dines to lead
Sign up here.

Sunday G3 :
Ian Soper will be leading G3 out to the Isle of Grain.

Currently no G1 or G4 rides to mention, but keep an eye out for any emerging details on the website.

Pushing ahead a few weeks, and having spoken of the summer finally coming to an end, we find ourselves looking at events in December !!

The next Club meeting is on December 10th.
The club holds a meeting open to all members every two months. We cover all matters large and small with the objective being to listen to ideas, agree the direction for the club and find people willing to take on actions (everything we do happens through members injecting energy and time into them).
So please do come along if you can. If you can’t make it but have any ideas about what additional things we could do as a club or things we could improve (or better still what you’d be willing to contribute to help with either of those), then send them to secretary@gsavanti.co.uk.
