Hi reader,

First up this week is the Club's AGM this coming Monday evening. The venue is booked, the tea coffee and buscuits ordered, so all that's left to do is get yourselves along......

The club AGM will take place this Monday evening, 28th January, at the Bromley Court Hotel in the Darwin Room.Arrive from 7.30 pm for tea, coffee and chat. The meeting will begin shortly after.

All committee posts as follows are open for nomination.

Membership Secretary
Club Coach
Time Trial Secretary
Marketing and Communications
Sportive Coordinator
Club Kit Manager(s)
Respective Ride Coordinators

Whilst some roles will see members willing to continue in them, there are others becoming open for 2019. The club is needing its membership to step forward and fill all these roles for the coming year, in order to remain as strong as the one we have all benefitted from and enjoyed being part of in recent times.

You are encouraged to attend so that the committee can take your views into account when planning the direction and activities of the club over the coming year.
We are particularly interested to hear your views regarding 'near-miss reporting'.

Full details on the website can be found here

Before the AGM, however there is a weekend of cycling to be enjoyed.

Early Saturday Ride . John Caine will be leading the 40 mile loop round to the finish line coffee. The weather forecast is improving now for this one, but please check the website for updates.

Sunday Rides.

The Sydenham Wheelers Reliability Trial takes centre stage this Sunday, with a large number of our riders supporting the event.
Starting at 9am from Knockholt Village Hall.
As of the 20th January cut-off, there were thirteen names on the web site. All these are awarded a free place. One has now pulled out, so a further draw of three names out of the hat presents the lucky riders with these additional three places.
Please take a look at the web site.
We do have people on the reserve list, so, if you cannot make it, please change your status on the web site or get in touch with Tony Le Vey directly (WhatsApp, e-mail etc.). Thanks

In addition to the RT, there is an option for a G3 ride to Hildenborough Golf Centre, although at present this ride requires a leader.

The following week brings us the :

Old Portlians Reliability Trial (Sunday, 3rd February 2019)
Again, the club is paying for fifteen places. This will again be by ballot if there are over fifteen as of Wednesday 30th January. More details will follow on the web site.
NOTE: Tony will need some help with this as he cannot be at the start / sign on.
This will involve a maximum outlay of £75, which Lee Powell will refund to you (he is normally very quick).
Who can help?
Tony will provide the names of the riders benefitting from the free places a little nearer the time.

Kentish Killer (3rd March 2019)

You will all have received an email asking for details of your availability to help at our key event. Thanks to all of you that have responded. You will be contacted nearer the time to confirm roles.
A number of respondents have forgotten to mention T-shirt size – do let either Claire Watson, Alastair Drysdale or Tony Le Vey know…
More importantly:
Those of you that have received an e-mail but have not replied yet – could you do so as soon as possible? It really would help - the KK is a very difficult event to organise and we would like to get names and roles in place as quickly as possible.

Please be aware, the team organising this event are working hard for us all, and deserve our support.

Thats it for now, have a great weekend one and all.
