Hi reader,

Sitting here wrapped up warm inside watching the pouring rain, the crazy hot summer seems like a distant memory now. The Grand Tours are over, we have some new World Champions (sorry Marek) and the only big event on the road calendar is Il Lombardia next weekend. Still - every season brings its charms. We're right in the middle of CycloCross and hill-climb season and track will be getting popular again.
This Sunday it's the hardcore double of the Catford Classic at Yorks Hill and the Bec Hill Climb at White Lane.
Last weekend it was the Hollingbourne Hill Climb - organised by Wigmore CC - we had an Avanti spotted out there by a few people - Giles Davy I think - would be good to hear about his experience in the forum!
Tomorrow on Yorks Hill we have Sam Dorkings and Dan Pink at 10:45 and 11:47 respectively - great fun to take part in or to spectate - if you're there be sure to give them a good cheer! Last time I saw Sam at that event he had an unlucky mechanical at the steep section and we saw him sprinting up the hill on foot - let's hope for better luck this time!
In the next round of the London and SE CX league it's Herne Hill tomorrow - we should have quite a few Avanti out there too. Last weekend at East Brighton Park we had a top 10 finish for Tim Johnston and a fantastic 24th place for Andy South - with myself and Simon Clarke propping up the other end of the results.

Upcoming Events
You can see the website for more details - we have the Christmas do the Wednesday before Christmas - register interest now and a whopper of a G2 ride out to the Isle of Wight (and back) 20th October - take your swimmers to get over the Solent - or maybe there is a ferry involved...
This Monday evening it's the club committee meeting at The Chelsfield 8pm - come along and have your say on running the club.
