Report from the Old Gits.

                                                The Last of the Summer Wine.
With the season coming to an end, Ciclos Uno put on a end of season LVRC series of six races at Hog Hill (The Last of the Summer Wine) so that us “old gits” could have a last fling. These events had to compete with the usual end of season National events the quality of the field varied from week to week if there was no big event on we had a hard race, other with 13 and 5 riders in second place with 5 points I had 4 points, this meant that event six was to be the big decider. No one could get near to Roger but if I could get a second or first and none of the other five scored any points I would be second overall. 

Fortunately for me this last event clashed with the finally of Mstina Jersey Series which meant that my opposition had other fish to fry, all I had to do was hang onto Rogers tail and finish as near as I could to him.

In the race for there were 14 starters and with only 6 laps completed Chris Gunter (Virgin Active) went off the front of the bunch and rapidly gained a 30 second lead after 25 minutes of racing. The bunch did not see Chris again until he lapped them just before the hour and then he continued to the finish on his own. The bunch sprint for second place was won by Roger Hornsby (G.S.Avanti) from Roly Crayford (San Fairy Ann). I finish 5th but was 2nd in the F cat group with Roger 1st in our group which meant that we finish 1st and 2nd in our category overall.
