Oliver Clark said… Thank you for the welcome Micahel.
I'm 23 and started cycling about 4 months ago. I rode out with the G2/3 combined ride on Sunday and a G3 ride a couple of weeks back. I plan on riding with G3 until I think I can cope with the speed and distance of the the regular G2 sunday runs.
Avanti seems like a great club and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in.
Thanks,
Ollie
Happy to help with signage all day Saturday
Steve Rodgers said… This Sunday I'm flying to NYC on business for the week.
Fly around 6pm so I can't make the full run.
I'll probably head out on my usual local ride from 7 or so for a few hours - get some hill reps in :)
Where and when should I meet for the Exedown event? I see it has a base at Brands Hatch.
Steve Rodgers said… Oh and how do I get the code to join the team strava page?
Steve Rodgers said… Hi Michael - thanks for the welcome.
I've been chatting to Steve Riley for a month or so about joining and finally made the leap.
I've been cycling for a while but only really got into regular, structured training this year. I've been following Chris Carmichael's TCTP and had great results. We have a company team of 4 at work in London and we've just come back from our big event of the year - the Hot Chillee Alpine Challenge - it was amazing - my first cycling trip abroad - I'm hooked!
My goal at the start of my training was to enjoy and complete those 3 days in the Alps. I did rather better than I'd originally set out so I'm keen to keep the training going and get some inspiration from local enthusiasts.
Avanti's jerseys were the best looking so I joined ;)
I'm signed up for the Exedown HC - I only live 5mins down the road and it's a regular climb - so I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing how much I get my arse kicked on the climb!
Denise Malkin said… Took up cycling about 4months ago. Have been on 2 of the club's G3 rides. Last week I did the London to Paris ride (300miles over 4 days). Really enjoy cycling but I have young children so will probably only be able to ride 2 out of 4 Sundays. I do lots of Spin classes at the gym which have helped me become a stronger climber. Denise

Tony Le Vey said… Hi Michael,
Many thanks for the welcome. I took up cycling again after a 10-12 year gap (back surgery) at the age of 49 with the aim of doing the London to Paris run for charity (last May). I have since done the Hell of the Ashdown and am booked in to do the Castle 100. I decided that it is now the time to join a club and do some group cycling. My average speed at the moment is in the 15-16.5 mph depending on terrain, so I think G2 should suit me. My aim is to do some more sportives this year, possibly some of the club time trials in 2013.
Hoping to get out next Sunday (29th). Looking forward to meeting you all...
Tony
Hello,
I'm a triathlete but my roots are in bikes starting with downhill mtb moving into road a couple of years back. I ride with Franke Hobbins and am looking foaward to taking part in some of the club events but have a young family so not always easy to get out. Look foward to joining in some of the club rides and hope to do some more TT's.
I took part in the Sundride TT on Saturday will the times be posted anywhere?
Many Thanks
Chris
