  • This was it, the big one. Doing the longest set route in Zwift. A bunch of intrepid zwifters have been slowly chasing down these routes during lockdown for entertainment and to avoid long rides in the outside world.

The PRL Full is 11 loops of zwift london, 175km & 2500m of climbing. That’s 11 times up box hill, phew.

So 8 turned up on the start…[Read more]

  • Just realised that my reply didn’t post. The EPIC battle wasn’t so epic at all. Dan smashed me on the hills by a good 1:40 according to Strava

  • Leading from the back again I see Neale. Photo evidence this time 😉

  • A beautiful group isolation ride in the local Surrey Hills was scheduled this Wednesday. Thoughts of fresh air and warm virtual sunshine on my back came crashing down as the sweat poured from my brow up all of the 5 hills. About 13 people started off on the group ride in central London for a minuscule flat section and a warp through a disused tube…[Read more]

  • 14 signed up for an evening jaunt up the mountain. The route of choice was Muir and the Mountain which turned out to be a nice roll through titans grove followed by a lengthy climb up epic KOM and the “bonus climb”🥵

The group started at a nice pace and the bumps in the woods soon saw a front group develop including Neale, Tim (joining us all the…[Read more]

  • Grants update:

    Shit I’m late. Moooore power!
Who’s that rider waving at me, he looks a lot like Tom. Oh well, better catch them up.
    Moooore power!
These guys are going at a ridiculous pace.
Are they even going to stop for a banana?
    Moooore power!
Nearly at baileys, how have I not caught them already?
    Moooore power!
    BOOM!
    Shit
    Simon, can you come…[Read more]

  • Saturday Group 1
Adam, Henry, Nick, Tom, Russ, Colin & Myself

Well, it started off eventful. Before even getting to the G I realised that still sitting at home on the side was my water bottle, which set the tone for the ride.

The 7 of group 1 set off first having waited for as long as we could for Grant to arrive. A quick conversation with Adam…[Read more]

  • Saturday Group 1 consisted of Adam, Neale, Andy, Tom, Iain and myself. After about 2 minutes our ride came to an abrupt halt after passing some fly tipping on High elms road. Neales tyre had hit something sharp and deflated in a matter of milliseconds which didn’t bode too well. We got off the road and started to Neale got to work. At this point…[Read more]

Group 2 consisted of John C, Alastair W, Martin D, Claire W, Henry S (welcome) and myself. We set off a couple of minutes behind the first group and tracked them up towards poll hill. We then found we had a 7th of Steve B. Cruising through to Otford and just at the railway station some poor unfortunate soul got a puncture (me). The rest of the…[Read more]

    Saturday 2nd Nov

4 hardy riders turned up for the start and what seemed to be a clear and mild day. Andy, Grant, Alastair and myself. We headed off up the A21 before turning for our first warmer up Chelsfield hill. Through Chelsfield and on to crockenhill with Andy towing us along from the front as the only rider doing the short course needing to…[Read more]

  • Thanks to all for a great ride. Really enjoyed it today.

  • Thanks for the write up Nick, exactly as I remember it. A great ride at a great pace.

  • Well I’m going to say that group 2 played a key part to today’s ride. As we stopped to provide mechanical support to group 1. we caught them as Will was looking for his broken quick link. Carl duely pulled out a brand new link to get them back on the road and we were off again. As we got to up to the A228 we caught group 3 and the comments ensued…[Read more]

  • Thanks for the write up Adam, I feel enthralled but also tired just reading it. What an epic ride. Great job on the result and such a shame about the puncture.

  • Saturday Ride

9 started out from the G. Neale, Russ, Tony, Adam, Bert, Andy, Sean, Jim & Myself.

Out up the A21 before turning towards Halstead and Knockholt at a social pace with lots of chatter coming from the group. All the way to Tatsfield before dropping into westerham. Then began the first real climbing of the day with a breakaway of Adam,…[Read more]

  • Thanks for the write up Steve, chapeau for making it round. My young(ish) body managed to cross the finish line at 2:30 so was safely tucked up in a bar when the rains came, and boy did it rain. I would not have been as confident in those decents on wet roads. Two of my group also managed to cross the line at about 4:30, one on the verge of…[Read more]

Think it depends on what you want to do with the bike but I’d personally try to go for hydraulic discs over cable pull. Tried both and the difference was huge in stopping power. I’ve also read that the government are raising the £1000 limit on C2W schemes. Not sure when that happens though.
