For those of you who get restless legs on a Saturday morning might I suggest a 21 mile Contre la Montre Ide Hill way? It starts on Gracious Lane taking the undulating route to the top of Ide, freewheels down through Bough Beech reservoir before partaking of the delights of Hubbards Hill and, for twice the fun, repeats the first part to end at the top of Baileys. Good practice for the Exedown.
For those of you haven’t ridden it before the course details can be found under GS/311 at the bottom of the link:

It's an 0830 start and there is plenty of parking. The meeting place is as per the link below:
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=551925&y=152325&z=115&...
The normal field is from what I can gather, Sydenham, 7Oaks and Avanti with occasional Bigfoot and privates.
I should mention that it's a Sydenham Wheelers TT and entry is £3. Also, it does not count towards the Inter-Club but there's hope for next year (!).
Hope to see you there...

I have tried to map this out but am not sure I have followed the (already simple) instructions correctly as the route is a mile short. Can anyone confirm whether I have plotted this correctly?

Looks correct to me. I think it is a bit shorter than advertised.
Will try to make it up for this!
Permalink Reply by rob on September 3, 2011 at 12:27 It was a damp, wet morning giving rise to thoughts of greasy roads and dodgy brakes but the course turned out to be not too bad in the end.

Well done to everyone who took part. Apologies if there are any accidental errors, the confirmed times will be sent out in the usual manner. Many thanks to Jane (7Oaks Tri) for the ever-welcome mug of tea at the finish line and to Bob for the timekeeping and signage.
Thanks for putting up the times, Rob!
Amazing time from you to break the hour and come first. Pretty depressing to see you catch me before Hubbards Hill on the first lap, casually able to offer me some words of encouragment as you passed, but it at least gave me something to aim at for a bit.
But I was pleased with my time given i went out fairly conservatively. I have real problems if I go into the red in the first ten miles in the mornings without a warm up, because it's like the middle of the night for me due to work, so made sure not to go there. First time I've ever beaten Dave Twin in a TT. It's interesting because he was almost a minute quicker on the first lap.
Well done to Dan for coming first for avanti. Steven Warner also put in a great effort and would have been in the first couple if there were a handicap. Johnny Edwards going well too.
As you said, maybe this should be on the interclub next year.
