SERRL AGM - Details for 2012 race season

Here's the main points to advise.

Club stuff
The club affiliation fee has increased from £50 to £60. This is mainly because of increased costs to run the SERRL league, e.g. petrol costs etc...
Avanti are down to marshal the Edenbridge Div Champs again on May 20th. They have scrapped the morning car 3/4 race so the Div Champs starts at 9:30 as opposed to the usual afternoon start.

Rider stuff
Rider affiliation has gone up from £10 to £20.
Race entry remains fixed at £15 for affiliated riders of affiliated clubs.
Entry on the day will increase from £20 to £22. Still cheaper than Surrey who charge £25 on the day.
Race entry refunds - refunds requested with 5 working days notice will get 50% back (possibly 100% but down the discretion of SERRL) - no refunds with less than 5 working days notice. This is due to numerous riders entering two races in different leagues and pulling out at the last minute or deciding it's too wet to race and causing unnecessary problems for SERRL.
Non affiliated riders will be charged extra per race to help make up for the shortfall, so it's in our interest to affiliate.

Race venue info
HogHill will not feature in the 2012 calendar
Fowlmead will not feature either - this is due to declining entry numbers and incidents where kids on bikes deliberately rode into the pack on one race.
In lieu of these venues the fixtures will be held at the new CycloPark just past BlueWater.
SERRL will also be holding a Thursday night league at the CycloPark starting at 7pm from 5th April to 27th September next year with the odd week here and there off.
Races at the CycloPark will offer 15 points for 1st place instead of 10.

Other news
As SERRL will only have 7 Saturday races at the CycloPark SURREY League have jumped in and booked the track for all other Saturday's throughout the race season. This means that there will be racing at the CycloPark every Saturday and most Thursdays.
As the problem with most Surrey races has been the distance from home this should mean a much better return for the club if they agree to affiliate us to the SURREY league again, as I am sure with the CycloPark being only 20 minutes from the green we will be able to enter many more Surrey races than we were able to this year.
Who knows, we may even get some extra supporters with it being so close to home :-)
