Nice ride today, though I did doubt if we'd ever make it to Hartfield at some points. A bit pacier on the way back, we went a different way up crocket hill. I thought I'd got to the top, sat up and had something to eat, only to discover the hardest bit was still to come!

Just before the green, Daz changes up gear to sprint, and then crack!, a spoke snaps and gets caught with his chain at 30mph. He was alright though! Managed to get home with a buckled wheel.

Good to be feeling reasonably fit again after several bouts of illness that ruined the end of my summer. Just as the season winds down.....

New chap Steve R is nippy - he rides like he's been doing it for years.

My ride, 18.4mi 67m

Well done guys. I went over to Herne Hill for a cross race. Caught up in traffic on the first lap, so well down and spent the rest of the race trying to gain places. Short, busy laps with three dismounts per lap needed. Three Peaks still heavy in my legs and mind meant it was difficult to get back into the swing of things. Even got lapped for a second time (!) on the last lap by the winner. Still, had a good battle with a couple of guys on the last few laps. No idea where I came, I'll have to wait for the results to come out in the week.

Nice to see Roger at the race - not riding, but helping out with the Herne Hill crew.

Steady out and steady back on the hartfield loop .

ave 17.4 mph max 38mph 67m plus 6.8 to G

4001ft climbing quite a lumpy route but nice .

brand new tyres and still got a puncture.

ave heart 150bpm 75% max 186bpm 93%.

bit cold in morning but got warmer so not a bad day.

well done Steve Rodgers good G1+ rider.

well done one and all.

Lovely ride - freezing start, luckily had the right layers as it got sunny and warm later.

Stinking cold still lurking, had to keep aware of who was behind me before unleashing snot-rockets every few minutes :(

Bacon sarnie was a treat mid-ride.

Dropped off at the bottom of Polhill and headed home (Seal) from there - 8am Polhill ascent was enough for one day.

Thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome - riding with you all a pleasure - talent and enthusiasm abounds.

I look forward to more club miles.

Group portion 18.3mph 62m, total 18.0mph 76m. Max 44mph. 5119ft elevation.

Like Doug, just getting fit in time for winter. liked in a strange way that we got lost, as we went down a few good unknown roads that added to a good ride on a nice sunny day. The cafe stop was a new cafe for me but seems a good one. Rode back with the guys to the bottom of polhill and headed back to kemsing similar averages to the rest even kept my pace up for the solo back through otford to kemsing, a few faces missing today and they missed a good club run. Welcome to Steve Rodgers, Tel B.
