Nice ride today,

rode off into the distance again, G1+ billie no mates, 41 miles into that wind and a few hills for fun, Avg 15.3.

Nice coffee cake and coffee, got very cold, eventually G1 arrived, quick chat, I decided to join them for the way back, mick said on the front Daz, so I did, looked back after 5 minutes and I was on my own again.

35 miles back to home, arrived 2.15, overall Avg 16.5 with 1,650 metres of climbing, I was looking forward to a wind assisted journey home, then the wind changed direction, tank running on empty and very hard last 5 miles.

Got back from work, went out for a night ride at midnight. Have a superduper light with a battery pack you have to dip for cars. Went up Cudham lane, then a couple of laps of pilgrims way and Brasted, then up Titsey hill and back the polehill way. 40 miles 16.5 av

No traffic. Very nice.

Nice one Doug, had toyed with getting some "Exposure" lights so that I could continue riding in the evening, but decided to stick with the Turbo in the end. A "no" traffic ride sounds quite inviting after the idiots on the roads Saturday to be honest though...but at midnight, waaaay past my bedtime ;-)

Whats with this G1,G1+ group, secretsquirrell rides off at av 15.3 Micks G1 follow at av 15.8 but arrive after G1+.? Some one has got a faulty computer?

It's almost as if he took a different route! ; )

What? Daz, nah, that never happens ;-)

Where is your group displine riders taking short cuts, never happened in my day.

Just for the record, check Strava for details;

I followed the published route as created by tony, no short cuts and my garmin does not lie.

Slight change at the end rather than ending up at the G I went home instead as I was again billy no mates.

Meant to be working right now, but just clicked on your strava link. A bit slack of you Daz having 59minutes resting time:-)

Quite liked this by the way: what shit cyclists say  .....made me laugh, anyway.

Waited for G1, big mistake which accounts for my waiting time, coffe cake and coffee went down well.

Ah, excellent excuse. At least it wasn't two cakes, one coffee.

Once again based in Belgium and went our yesterday morning for a long ride. I was meant to be joined by a couple of locals, but obviously the local beer had more effect on them than me........or did they know how things would turn out?

Set off down main ship canal that goes from Zeebrugge to Ghent. Great surface and, boy, was I flying! Averaged a speed that none of you would believe, with a gale force wind up my backside. I kind of knew it would be tough coming back, but didn't really think about it.

I turned at Ghent to comeback on the Ghent- Brugge canal. By the way, if you don't know Flanders, most of the canals and rivers have big tarmac tracks.

Anyway things were bad enough for the 5km of side wind before turning west. Had to lean into the wind just to stay upright. However, the 40km back to Brugge into a head on, 40mph wind was a joke. It was like going up a 15% incline the whole way back. I was moving so slowly I was struggling to cycle past pedestrians....not that many were out.

Was totally out of it by the time I got back. The wind was doing strange things to my head!
