The Idea;

Location Polhill Garden Centre to A25 to A20 and then back, 28 miles approx 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Minimum 6 riders needed.

Views needed and who's interested?

I should be up there Bill, but, likewise, don't wait for me. If it's a hilly route I'll probably drop off anyway!

Was going to put an hour in on my TT bike, but it's looking too wet and windy. Am doing a 50mile TT in two weeks time, which is pretty much the total time I've spent on the bike so far!
Tuesday 17th August.
Looks like it will rain during the day, so sounds like Crystal Palace will be off.
As long as it's not still raining I will be out for the Tuesday night ride if anyone else is up for it.
We can call it on the night and may depend how many we get.
Could do the Farningham out and back if you like.
Hope to see some of you at Polhill for 7:15.
Cheers all
Bill
I'll try to join you Bill.
Weather permitting I will be there. Oli is coming too
would be good to see you Brian
Tuesday 17th August - Lee, Bill, Kevin, Oli, Jeremy D & Simon Clarke.
After some discussion we decided not to do the Knockholt loop or the Farningham out and back, but to take in the local hills.
We set off down Polhill and along to Sundridge, turned right then left up Brasted Chart - down Toys and up Ide Hill following the road round to the right at the top then speeding down into Riverhead - finishing off with a fairly rapid ascent of Polhill.
Lee did a classic Cancellara lead-out leading up to the foot of Ide Hill which certainly stretched things out.
Kevin and Oli seemed joined at the hip up the hills with the rest of us there or thereabouts.
A bit windy but otherwise a good ride was had by all.
Bill
I decided to get some miles in on my TT bike in advance of Sunday's 50m open......and after 35 miles I was regretting entering. Seriously knackering holding that same stooped position! Saw Kev, Jeremy B and Danny Easton while on my endless loop.

Thanks Dave for leading us on Sunday.  shame that we had to cancel the G2 ride, but the predicted conditions were just far too dangerous to be taking out groups of riders.  I have to say that I was not that disappointed that we did not…

Well done Bill. I managed a couple of hours on the mountain bike in the snowy fields. Didn't go too hard, just enjoyed the frozen trails before they all turned to mud again.

Sundays Off Road ride

Four of us braved the weather to follow the thames river path. Jenny,Glyn, Steve and myself much trepidation at the start after watching Groups of tourest slipping and sliding on the black ice around the Wolfe statue in Greenwich park. We never got as far as Eirth marsh as promised, gave in to the cold and turned back at Trip Cock point and warmed up in the Cafe at the Thames Barrier. 20 miles I add a bit extra on the way home through Castle woods total 30 miles.See More
