Anyone keen?

I might go up there and just cycle round a bit (though not on that bmx(?) circuit!). However, from 1 November I will start cycling to and from work, as our new place has a cheap gym and shower in the basement. This could either transform or ruin my winter!
If the weather is dry, I might aim to start giving it a crack in January. It appears that the whole LVRC scene goes into hibernation for the winter, and don't have a bike for cyclocross.
Cycling to work seems to be a lot of people's secret weapon. I think it will keep you going nicely.
I've decided to race on Sunday before my form drops off a cliff. You know, for fun. I've heard it's like Foulmead so will be almost impossible to get away and will probably come down to a sprint. Yikes!

Good luck!

Permalink Reply by rob on October 22, 2011 at 11:37 Excellent smooth track about a mile and a half long, more undulating than you'd expect. Only issue today was the wind - it's very exposed even at the best of times. 50 or so riders started. After a few laps I decided it was too slow on the long drag so I went around the pack and attacked into the wind. I was of course soon caught, and then riders swarmed around me. I held onto the back for awhile while I was recovering, but then a few laps later a Sydenham rider crashed in front of me! I hit the brakes, swerved and stayed up, but came to a stand still. Unfortunately this was at the beginning of the long drag full into the wind. I gave everything to catch up but didn't really stand a chance. Bloody annoying! I didn't come to ride alone so decided to DNF, which I suppose isn't in the spirit of things. But it was good to see the track, experience, etc etc. Thanks again to Daz for taking me down there and watching proceedings. He now has the data on his garmin and will be able to ride it on his turbo computer! Which is important because this will be the only SERRL closed circuit on the calendar next year.
Might give another one of these races ago in the winter series....
