GS Avanti

Cycling Club

Cycling home as normal along The Drive towards the The Knoll, sidcup, approached the mini roundabout, clear on the right so I enter the roundabout, driver failed to look on the left, crash bang wallop, came down hard on tht right hip and knee.

Great Ambulance crew worried about the crack in my helmet, resulting in the works from the hostipal, thankfully only bruising and no damage. After 7 hours of every precautionary measures, no broken bones, have some road rash, bruising and soreness.

I was told I flew about 10 feet accross the roundabout, Diesel Daz now has wing, Olympic score given by he family who helped me was an 8, it took the pain away and made he laugh for a minute. I was more worried about the driver who was very upset.

Bike knackered and dropped home by my boys in blue, recovering at home now very sore, hope to be back out on the bike next weekend hopefully.

Really sorry to hear that and very relieved you're all right.  I hope everything heals quickly and you're out again soon.

Not that it's important compared to you being in one piece but are they paying for your bike and helmet etc?  You do commute on a Cervelo don't you....

bad luck dz,rest up and come back soon

Get well soon m8, are the old bill going to nick the driver?

I believe she was reported for without due care.

Ouch. Really bad luck and good luck for a speedy recovery. Much damage to the car?!

I believe I left a body like shape in the bonnet.

Which bike was it, china 1 or china 2?

neither, work bike which is also all carbon so right off.

Daz

So its time to smash up your china Cervelo, and claim a real one! :-)

more like an opportunity to build two new one's. Ha

Daz

Glad you didn't come off to badly, how's the recovery going? And can we see a pic of the smashed up bike?
