Hi guys, just been told yesterday by a work mate that he's pulled out of act 2, my problem is that he was driving down with his dad and taking my bike aswell as his. I fly out on the Friday afternoon so do not really have time to transport a bike bag and put the bike back together and sign in etc. can anyone recommend the best company that takes your bike down by lorry and is it a do-able option? I was only flying out so late to accommodate some banker friends, as they have all gone underground into hiding at the moment they pulled out some weeks back. So as alone as cavendish but still looking for a way to have a crack at it, any info could help.

Any chance you could bribe one of the club members with a big car to drive it down for you in return for a free weekend?  With your mates pulling out so late, are any of their entries and accomodation going spare?

Hi Terry, I don't think that you are going to get very far with the lorry option.  This might sound like a silly idea, but have you tried UPS.  I see then delivering new bikes into Bromley Bikes from my office window virtually every day.  You would still need to pull the bike apart (I guess) , so probably not much better than taking it with you on the plane.  Also, you are going to have a big problem if the bike does not turn up !.  I know that there are people doing the 2nd Etape from Bigfoot. Maybe if you put a message on their forum, someone might be able to help, especially if you made a contribution towards their costs.

Hope that helps !   Steve

Thanks steve, the lorry would be a firm that does bikes to the Etape only. There is one going this wednesday from Sigma sport bikes but its not them doing it and its £150 for the bike to go out and back, they meet you at Pau then the finish. Just not sure if they are ok? Hoped someone had used one of these guys before. Or had a m8 going down with space for a bike, will try the Big foot boys as I know 1 or 2 of them. Thanks, Tel.
