Many thanks indeed to all who showed on a swelteringly hot October ! morning

Thanks too to all who helped to make this inter-club hill climb a success

All 4 clubs were well represented

We had 42 starters which was just great and some really ! outstanding times

Chris and Ian will post all times on Avanti's website by Monday

We ae definitely on for the Open on sat 6 Oct next year

I'll second that . . .

I enjoyed the crack up at the finish in glorious sunshine overlooking the Weald - absolutely stunning!  We are so lucky to have people in the Club who are willing to give up their time to organise such an event.

42 starters for our 1st Hill Climb plus their supporters, Friends and Clubmates made a great crowd.

Here are the details

1. PARKING From 1000 Only on west side of Terrys Lodge Rd, from crossroads to A20 pls

2. ENTRIES EOL From 1000 onwards, In finish layby, £ 3 to Ian Soper, pls have correct money thanks

3. START   From 1100 onwards by green farmers gate 250m up
                 No cars allowed any where near here please 

4. FINISH    In top layby opp yellow gas marker - course is 1150m

5. PHOTOS Yep !

6. KIOSK    Not definite at the mo, but working on it !

7. PRIZES   All profs to be ploughed back as (small) prizes

8. MAP       thanks to Tony

Will we have exclusive use of the hill, or can we expect traffic?

I was so knackered the last time I arrived there it took me two attempts, that would be embarrassing on a hill climb!

I should have mentioned I was out with Bigfoot so their speedy group have had a practice run now.  Looks like it's going to be a great event with some healthy club rivalry.

I think it starts at the big green gate on the left, finishes opposite layby with the yellow gas/electricity marker in it, the one packed on the day with faces smiling gleefully at the folly of riders wanting to race up such an incline. 0.64 miles, 8.5 - 8.8% apparently (anyone confirm this?).
