If you've got out on the bike in the last few days, well done - and you're braver than me as well! It's been pretty grim, and Thursday's "blizzard" around the heights of Halsted led us to cancelling the indoor turbo session (a first I believe).

So, if you are missing a bit of cycling chat, do your best to come along to tomorrow night's AGM - it will be warm and dry for starters!

We’d love to welcome as many members along as possible - it's a great chance to input to what the club does during the following year. We hire a decent room at the Bromley Court Hotel, and there is coffee/tea laid on as well as a private bar we can use afterwards.

Try and arrive by 7.45pm, as the formal stuff starts at 8pm – depending on discussion, it can last anything up to two hours. We cover:

• A report from Lee, our current Treasurer, on the clubs financial results for 2016 – where the club’s money was spent.

• A presentation from myself, current Chairman, on proposed plans and budget for 2017 – this is a great chance for everyone to air views on what the club should be doing.

• Election of Committee members – there are the “formal” roles of Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer that must be filled, and our rules allow up to 7 others on the Committee. The Committee has formal responsibility for running the club, in line with what is put forward at AGM, during the following year.

There is more detail on the Event Page – as ever, it helps if you can confirm attendance.

 Interested in joining the Committee?

It is not too late for you to come forward if you would like to be nominated to join the Committee – or stand against nominated individuals.Personally I am keen to find someone who can help organise various events for club members – such as excursions, sportive involvement etc.

Also important to note that there are many important activities in the club that do not require you to be on the elected committee – ride leading/coordinating being top of that list!

Any questions in advance of the AGM tomorrow night, please drop me a line.

Hope to see you there!
