Hi All,

Brits finish 1st and 3rd on the TDF podium, get in there!

On offer this weekend we have the following :

Early Saturday Ride.
A lovely 40 miles to Chiddingstone. Have a look at how it got it's name, quite interesting, I'm saying nothing! Not as hilly as last week's KK route, but that was quite a high bar, so doesn't mean flat!

Sunday rides.

G1 and G2 are off to the Dymchurch coast (early doors @7:00am) so as to bag a deckchair in time, oh and to help avoid the heat. Graham leading G1 and Chris G2. Probably converging at coffee stops. It will be a lovely ride and although long, it is pretty flat, so very doable. I imagine there will be a cheeky recovery beer afterwards.

G3. Are off to Horley lead by Phil "Holiday" Hookway.

G4. Will go somewhere, they always do. Watch the website for updates.

Tuesday Rides
Lee is leading more hilly training on Tuesday. Don't forget proper/good lights as they can and do finish in the dark on unlit roads.

WhatsApp Groups
We now have WhatsApp groups for more fluid messaging for each type of event and group. Doubly useful for last minute or live comms. Note that key information will always be available on the website, so this is an optional bonus. If you want to join one of the groups click here.

Flanders Sportive - Rider Call. A message from Bill Fitzgerald.

With 6 weeks to go until the Flanders Weekend Trip, it's time to start thinking about rider entries, travel and accommodation requirements.
If you've missed the website posts about this excellent weekend please take a moment to take a look here.
You don't have to ride the long route as there are several distance options all starting and finishing at the Eddie Merckx cycling museum in Ghent.

Please can you show your attendance of this event via the link above as I will be meeting with Chris Dines next week to discuss the logistics of this. If you decide a bit later I'm still pretty sure we'd be able to fit you in, but we need to start arranging things before it gets to close to the event.

First Aid Course
Watch the website and newsletter for details of the next course.

Club Shop
By popular demand, cheaper versions of the black bib shorts are now available!

The shop has been open since 1st August, and will be open for the next two weeks of the month.
New stock back in the shop........
We have a new batch of summer caps, gloves and arm warmers now available.

There's some cyclecross training happening this weekend. Check out the website or whatsapp group for details.

Time Trails
We need volunteers to help marshal. There is a cash incentive as well. Please check the next event on 9th Aug here.
Don't forget, if you ride TT's , you should also volunteer to marshall one.
It's as simple as this , if everyone who rides a TT marshals once, Avanti will easily fulfill its obligations to the series.

Upcoming events to consider getting involved with :

11th August - Brighton Big Dog - 2 Spaces have now become available. Click here to get involved.

15th/16th September - Revolve weekend at Brands Hatch, including the Four Up Team Time Trial. - Why not give it a go, the more the better. This is a brilliant event - yes really cycling around the Brands Hatch track!
